“If you’ve been accused of a crime, individualized attention and results matter. I make sure you have the representation you need. I want my clients to see their criminal experience as a speed bump, not a road block, in the rest of their lives."
When you have been charged with a crime, your rights and freedom are at stake. Shawn M. Curry makes it his mission to protect your rights, zealously defend you, and put you in a position to move forward in a positive direction at the conclusion of your case.
Successfully handling hundreds of cases, from felony drug and sex offenses to assaults, thefts, and DUIs, Mr. Curry has appeared in more than 20 counties throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, U.S. District Court to the Middle District of Pennsylvania and all Pennsylvania Courts of Common Pleas.
Helping clients achieve their personal and clearly defined objective is obtained by implementing Shawn’s strategic approach to every case. He works diligently to understand the circumstances that led to the criminal charge and construct an effective defense. Taking such a personalized approach is key to minimizing—if not eliminating—the consequences of the criminal accusation.
Relevant training and experience outside the courtroom enhances Shawn’s criminal defense practice and reputation among his peers. He has served as a faculty member teaching trial advocacy skills to law students at the Widener University School of Law Intensive Trial Advocacy Program (ITAP). Additionally, Shawn has received certification as an Instructor in Standard Field Sobriety Testing and as an Evidentiary Breath Test Technician relating to DUI litigation. He also participated in the National Drug Defense Seminar in Houston, Texas.
Shawn is a graduate of Widener University School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining Colgan & Associates, LLC, Shawn was employed as an associate with a private firm, where he concentrated on the areas of criminal and DUI defense. He has also gained legal experience serving as law clerk/intern with the Centre County Office of Public Defender, the Law Office of the late John “Rusty” Miller, in Lewistown, and the Dauphin County Office of District Attorney.
